Rostering and Recruitment Officer
Full Time, Permanent

Are you looking for a role where you can make a difference?
As the Rostering and Recruitment Officer, you will help build and maintain a capable workforce that delivers exceptional care to children and young people in SYC's Out of Home Care service. You will coordinate rosters across multiple homes, ensure workforce compliance, support recruitment initiatives, and maintain accurate records, contributing directly to service quality and continuity of care.

 

Based at our Kent Town Head office and reporting to the Out of Home Care Manager, you will administer the coordination of rostering and recruitment activities for the SRC team. Your day-to-day activities may vary, but will include:

  • Generating and reviewing fortnightly rosters for the SRC homes including on-call posts and ensuring compliance with the SCHADS award rules
  • Reviewing timesheets for compliance and accuracy whilst liaising with payroll and seeking approval from Team Leaders of the homes
  • Promptly actioning coverage for unplanned absences and ensuring the registry of casual employees and their availability is updated
  • Monitoring workforce coverage, vacancies, leave trends, and roster gaps to proactively support recruitment and workforce planning
  • Screening applications for SRC positions and coordinating interviews or relevant paperwork for recruiting Team Leaders

About You
As someone who is detail oriented with a problem-solving mindset, you will have proven experience collaborating well in a team to achieve positive outcomes. To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Rostering or scheduling experience, preferably within a residential care or service-orientated environment
  • Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office, with strong knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Strong workforce coordination and organisation skills, able to manage time and achieve outcomes with minimal supervision or direction
  • Understanding of SCHADS Award requirements and its impact on scheduling and payroll (or have the willingness to learn award rules)
  • A flexible attitude and willingness to undertake a diverse set of tasks with time management in mind
  • Attentiveness to share required information/knowledge with others whilst maintaining a high level of confidentiality

Key screening and requirements:

  • Be willing to complete a Working with Children Check and National Police Check
  • Be eligible to work in Australia
