Are you a qualified Teacher looking for a role where you can make a difference? We are seeking a passionate Teacher to join our Tailored Learning team on a permanent basis, located at our SYC Education & Training Hub (Elizabeth).
Reporting to the Program Manager- Tailored Learning, and working in collaboration with contracted schools, you will deliver group learning sessions aligned with the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) and South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) frameworks. These learning sessions will support students across a range of ages and abilities, designing learning experiences that respond to their individual goals and developmental needs. This role is flagged to commence in January 2026, on a permanent part-time basis (0.6-0.8 FTE) In this role, you'll provide tailored support to inspire and challenge students with identified barriers to learning. Key responsibilities: - Facilitate the learning program by establishing positive relationships while creating a supportive and safe learning environment to meet the needs of individual students.
- Collaborate effectively with Case Manager’s and both internal and external stakeholders to support student outcomes.
- Select and utilise a diverse range of learning resources and tools to support effective engagement and learning.
- Proactively organise the classroom and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive learning environment.
- Deliver engaging and creative learning experiences that motivate students and encourage active participation.
- Stay informed about curriculum developments and structural changes to ensure teaching remains current and effective.
- Model and promote appropriate behaviours that support a respectful and productive learning culture.
- Provide feedback to parents, and carers on a student’s progress at meetings as required.
About You As someone who thrives in a collaborative team environment, you will bring a genuine passion for supporting young people to engage in an alternative learning space. To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate: - An understanding of the barriers that contribute to student disengagement from mainstream education, including homelessness, involvement in the youth justice system, family breakdown, poverty, and limited access to education.
- Strong engagement skills, with the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with young people from diverse backgrounds, as well as their families and support networks, to achieve positive educational and wellbeing outcomes.
- Proven experience in facilitating group learning programs within a trauma-informed classroom environment.
Key screening and requirements: - Degree in Teaching/Education.
- Must be willing to complete relevant employment screening and to maintain requisite clearances or checks as required.
- Hold and maintain a current RRHAN-EC certificate and Safe Environments Training certificate.
- Have possession of a current valid Driver’s License, willingness to drive, and your own registered vehicle with a 4–5-star ANCAP safety rating.
