Work Ready Coach
Strathpine, Full Time

Are you looking for a role where you can make a difference?

As a Work Ready Coach, you will provide professional, individual tailored services to participants to enable them achieve successful employment and/or education outcomes.

The Transition to Work (TtW) program provides intensive pre-employment support to improve the work readiness of young people and to help them into work (including apprenticeships or traineeships) or education. SYC delivers employment services at over 50 locations throughout Australia. You will be located primarily in our Strathpine site on a full-time permanent basis. 

 

In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive and result driven team who are dedicated to our vision of wellbeing, independence, and opportunity for everyone.

The day-to-day activities will include: 

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify participants individual needs, barriers and career goals. 
  • Providing effective coaching, case management and client services to participants. 
  • Collaborating with the Youth Employment Coaches and other key stakeholders to achieve outcomes. 
  • Developing and facilitating group activities and training with participants. 
  • Providing proactive coaching and support of participants on work experience activities.

About You

In this role, you will actively support young people by enabling them to overcome non-vocational barriers and improve their vocational skills. You will be a great team-player to deliver quality services and collaboratively achieve client outcomes. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience in effectively engaging and working with young people 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to produce documentation such as emails, correspondence, and reports.
  • Time management and organisational skills, including the ability to plan, prioritise and achieve outcomes.
  • Sound interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills; and the ability to identify innovative and lateral solutions to problems
  • Knowledge of education, training, and employment options available to young people

For this role, you will need to:

  • Be willing to complete a Working with Children Check, National Police Check 
  • Be eligible to work in Australia
  • Have possession of a current valid Driver’s License and a willingness to drive
  • Where a motor vehicle allowance is paid for the use of the employee’s personal vehicle for work purposes, the employee’s vehicle used must have a safety rating of 4 or 5-star ANCAP or EURO-NCAP to be used for SYC business purposes.
  • Prepared to work from, or be located at, any SYC site.
