Senior Youth Employment Coach (Transition to Work)
Full Time - Mitchelton and Strathpine, QLD

We have a great opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Senior Youth Employment Coach to join the team at Strathpine and Mitchelton sites on a full-time permanent basis.  You will play a crucial role in guiding, mentoring, and supporting young individuals aged 15-24 in their education or career journeys. You’ll be empowering and motivating a small team of Youth Employment Coaches to drive the best employment and education outcomes for participants. This position is responsible for supporting the Transition to Work (TtW) Manager to lead a successful team.
This role will require to work across Mitchelton and Strathpine sites.

 

The day-to-day activities will include:

  • Proactively support the Transition to Work (TtW) manager to effectively manage day to day site operations to achieve all agreed targets and site KPI’s
  • Providing expert operational advice, coaching and support to all TtW employees.
  • Working collaboratively and professionally with colleagues to welcome and engage individuals by phoning or visiting the sites.
  • Reverse marketing to employers and broker opportunities for participants to achieve sustainable employment outcomes.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with employers, relevant stakeholders, and participants.
  • Providing individual case management support, facilitating participant development tailored to overcome their barriers and helping them into employment and education.

About You

As someone who is highly organised and enjoys creating a positive working environment, you will be able to develop your leadership skills, manage change and innovation in service. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Ability to provide leadership / support along with a willingness to share information and knowledge with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write timely and accurate communications, project notes and reports.
  • Effective collaboration skills with colleagues, such as providing expert advice, coaching and support as required.
  • Self-motivation and initiative, with well-developed organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and attend to multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Previous experience in training, developing and leading high performing teams.
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.

For this role you will need to:

  • Be willing to complete a Working with Children Check and National Police Check
  • Be eligible to work in Australia.
  • Have a current and valid driver's licence and your own registered vehicle with a 4 or 5 star ANCAP safety rating
